Last year after our show at the Crown Plaza I came to the Lexington George Washington Inn on the recommendation of one of our customers. Robin was great help and showed us around the hotel. My first two questions were about electric for lights and air-conditioning … our 2 biggest problems at the Crown Plaza. I was assured it would be fine. From there Janel and I emailed for months. Upon arrival at the hotel Andre, while checking us in, immediately contacted Janel. He knew she wanted to see us immediately. 2 minutes later I got the biggest hugs from someone I already considered a friend. We checked out the ballroom, already being set up, and found our room which Andre had placed us close to the ballroom, a very nice gesture! That evening we decided to check out the bar for dinner where we found James & Lisa. Tonya cooked our food and life was great. . They were very accommodating and even hooked us up with a movie to watch… great evening! One of several! Friday morning we found the very nice continental breakfast, which we hadn’t expected but we were really in the mood for egg since we needed to unload the trailer. Andre called the chef, Ray, and then walked us down to the restaurant and turned on the lights while the chef took great care of us fixing us great omelets. After breakfast we made special arrangements to unload in the morning and then leave for awhile. I can’t tell you how much that helped us! It breaks up the heavy work into 2 parts which gives us a nice break to go out and around Williamsburg which we love. Set up went great. Please remember next time that we don’t need the table cloths. Yes many of us used them because were there but we have our own and that will help both of us keep costs down. In this economy we all need that! During the show the restaurant staff came and took orders for our vendors and delivered to us which was wonderful!!! I hope that you got a lot of our customers for lunch. The food was very good and I felt the price was good. Next time I think we need to make a sign inside the ballroom with lunch info and we will try to advertise also. I know I personally told many to go check out the lunch! And Ray brought us breakfast to the show… great guy!!! And then there was Rico! He fixed our safe in our room, he got us in and out of the ballroom, he brought Robin, my assistant, a birthday cookie and balloon, he checked on us constantly throughout the show…. He was a bright light in the day! Every time we saw him it was big smiles and such a pleasant guy. Robin told us Janel would fix us up… she did that. We missed seeing her over the weekend but understood her family came first, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. And I have to say we were told the electric would be fine and also the air-conditioning and I have to say is WOW! I know I didn’t thank the maids, but they were great. The whole staff at your hotel was friendly, helpful, & accommodating. I don’t know of any hotel where I felt more at home than I did at the Lexington George Washington!!! Thank you all so very much! In looking over the evaluation form I have to say everything was outstanding! I didn’t have anyone complain about being hot, couldn’t find parking, etc. The only complaints were over our credit card machines working. A few of us went into the outside area and got signals, but that takes too much time. If we could somehow solve this problem with phone lines or something it would make our location go from great to perfect! Thank you all so very much! Looking forward to being in Williamsburg twice this year with you all!
